Privacy Policy

By using the Hiking Map service in any way, you accept the terms of this Privacy Policy.

§1 Definitions

  1. Operator - W3media.pl s.c., with its registered office in Kraków, al. Powstania Warszawskiego 15, NIP: 945-212-37-28, e-mail: kontakt@w3media.pl
  2. Application - Hiking Map mobile applications for the Android and iOS systems
  3. Website - website in the domain hikingmap.app
  4. Service - the Application, the Website and the software on servers necessary for the provision of services
  5. User - a natural person using the Service in any way
  6. Account - an entry in the Service database confirming the fact of User registration, including registration via Facebook, Apple and Google
  7. User Content - content made available by the User in the Service, especially photos, comments and tracks of recorded routes
  8. User Profile - the section of the Application and the Website containing publicly available information about the User, in particular the User's first and last name, profile photo and User Content

§2 Personal data

  1. The Operator is the administrator of personal data.
  2. Personal data is collected directly from Users registering for the Service.
  3. When registering for an Account with the Service, email address, name, gender, weight and profile photo are required. These data are necessary for the provision of the Service.
  4. The user's e-mail address is not displayed publicly in the Service in any way.
  5. The purpose of the processing of personal data is:
    • the establishment of an Account on the Service;/li>
    • provision of electronic services by the Operator within the Service;
    • to analyse and manage the User's activity in order to adjust the services and content to individual preferences;
    • to carry out marketing activities.
  6. The GDPR grants the following potential rights in relation to the processing of personal data:
    • the right of access to personal data;
    • the right to rectification of personal data;
    • the right to erasure of personal data;
    • the right to restrict the processing of personal data;
    • the right to object to the processing of personal data;
    • the right to data portability;
    • the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority;
    • the right to revoke consent to the processing of personal data.
  7. The Operator shall not sell or lend the Users' entrusted personal data to other persons, companies or institutions without the User's consent.
  8. The Users' personal data may be provided to entities entitled to receive such data under applicable laws, including the competent judicial authorities.
  9. The User may at any time delete his/her Account together with his/her collected personal data using the function available after logging in to the Application.

§3 Content and location

  1. The User Profile and User Content are presented publicly on the Application and the Website.
  2. The Application saves location data of the device when recording routes.
  3. The location data may be used anonymously for statistical analysis of the routes travelled and to verify the routes used in the Service.

§4 Cookies policy

  1. The Service uses Cookies, small text files stored on the User's device, which are necessary for the proper provision of services by the Operator.
  2. Cookies are used in the Application to:
    • aggregate statistical data on User traffic and activities (in particular by the Google Analytics service)
    • issuing and adapting advertisements by advertisers
    • integration of third-party tools and social plug-ins
  3. Some of the cookies used are permanent and are not deleted from your device when you close the Application or leave the Website.
  4. Restricting the use of cookies on your device may affect the functioning of the Service.

§5 Local Storage and IndexedDB Policy

  1. Local Storage and IndexedDB are mechanisms for storing the data of the Service on your device.
  2. The data stored within Local Storage and IndexedDB are permanent and are not deleted when you close the Application or leave the Website.
  3. If you disable Local Storage and IndexedDB support on your device, the functioning of the Service may be affected.

§6 Policy on other data transferred via HTTP/HTTPS/WebSocket

  1. Data obtained from information transmitted via HTTP/HTTPS/WebSocket is used for technical, identification, statistical and analytical purposes. This includes data such as:
    • IP address
    • internet address called up (URL)
    • the Internet address from which the User accessed the pages of the Website
    • which browser the User is using
    • version of the application, device name and model, operating system and interface language
    • other standard information transmitted via HTTP/HTTPS/WebSocket
  2. An IP address is the identification number of a computer on a network, used for proper communication between devices.
  3. Users' IP information may be transmitted to authorised state authorities at their request for the purposes of their investigations or to third parties on the basis of rulings by state authorities.
  4. Data transmitted via the HTTP/HTTPS/WebSocket protocol mentioned in point 1 are also transmitted when communicating with external services used by the Application, in particular statistical, advertising and social networking services.

§7 External libraries

  1. The Service uses Google Analytics and Firebase for anonymous statistics on the use of the Application and the Website. Google's privacy policy also applies to the User.
  2. The Application uses the Facebook SDK library in order to integrate login with Facebook.
  3. The Application uses Authentication Services to integrate login using your Apple account.
  4. The Application uses the Google Cloud Platform API to integrate sign-in using your Google account.
